Kelly Kent-Hickman is originally from Charleston, WV. She graduated with honors from Parker College of Chiropractic in May of 2009. She came to chiropractic through a personal struggle with chronic migraines that disabled her for years. After a long list of neurologists attempted to abate her symptoms, her father sent her to his chiropractor. Though reluctant, she agreed to give it a chance and has been singing the praises of chiropractic ever since.
Upon graduating Dr. Kelly began practice in Richardson, TX at Lorenzen Chiropractic Clinic under the owner, Dr. Steve Lorenzen. She remained in that clinic for 4 years before making the decision to enter into practice on her own. Through her search she found a similar soul in Dr. Jack Donnelly of Healing Arts West and continued his practice upon his retirement.
She uses Applied Kinesiology (muscle testing) to determine areas that require an adjustment and as confirmation of a successful treatment. She is trained in Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead, Activator, Applied Kinesiology, Charette’s Extra-Spinal, Myofascial Release and Leander Techniques. She is certified in Webster Technique and is working toward her post-graduate diplomate in Pediatrics through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
Her strongest passion is providing hope for patients who believe that they will never be free of their pain. Dr. Kelly lives in Plano, TX with her husband, a Licensed Massage Therapist, and daughter Mia. Her hobbies are gourmet vegetarian cooking, Latin dancing, and spending time with her family and her European boxers Calvin and Hobbes.
